Since September of 2007 the idea of a barbecue restaurant and blues bar on Northgate has been developing. Texas has its own unique way of doing barbecue, best found in the classic brick pits from Llano to Lockhart. Texas is also famous for the quality blues musicians it produces, starting with the infamous Blind Lemon Jefferson and going through decades of refinement until we end up with acts such as ZZ Top, Janis Joplin and Stevie Ray Vaughan. It is only natural that these two great Texas traditions should come together, especially in a place as rich in tradition as College Station.
With the combination of a restaurant, bar, and live music stage Church Street will be able to provide a complete entertainment experience for all ages to enjoy. Not only will customers be able to dine on time honored “Texas-style” BBQ, they will be able to enjoy it in a brand new facility with lots of outdoor patio space with which to take advantage of the favorable Brazos Valley weather.
The aim of the restaurant is simple. It will be able to provide a completely refined, yet casual eating experience. Our philosophy resides on the fact that quality food and a polished atmosphere don’t require high prices, we want to prove that a first rate experience can be accessible to everyone. The menu will feature not only traditional BBQ items such as sausage, brisket, chicken and ribs, but also some specialty items like Duck, Wild Boar, Venison and Rabbit, all served up from the brick pits.
